Heritage Artisans Guild
Artist of the Month Stanley Newcomer
Stanley Newcomer did iron work the modern way, welding and cutting steel for
35 years. In the late 1980s, he purchased his first coal fire forge and anvil
and started hammering out iron as a hobby – the way his great grandfather did.
Over the last 15 years, he has collected antique tools and equipment for the blacksmith shop.
In January of 2006, he retired from his full-time job and opened Stan’s Blacksmith Shop.
The shop is open by appointment only at 1036 Garfield Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552.
Please call 717-653-4148 for an appointment.
He displays at the Red Barn Gallery, annually at the PA Farm Show in Harrisburg,
and at local museums and historic events.
