Museum Workshops

for children and adults

Winters Heritage House Museum offers the following workshops through an ‘on-request’ schedule.

Gather a few friends and give us a call. We’ll run a workshop just for your group, whenever it suits your busy schedule.  Also visit our Tours page to see what opportunities we offer there!

There is a single flat fee per workshop, regardless of your participant numbers, and it is up to your group to collect and organize payment. Workshops are fairly small, so should be easy for you to to fill.  Payment is due two weeks in advance of the class.

Visit our Calendar of Events page to see what workshop specials we are offering each month!

Children and Family Workshops —$75/group for up to 10 people. Workshops each take 60 to 90 minutes and are hands-on in nature.  Any of the Children and Family Workshops also make a fun activity for a group of adults, students, or scouts.  We require a minimum of 1 adult (ages 16 and older) per 5 children (ages 15 and younger).

  • Wool to Weaving—Learn how raw wool was traditionally prepared for hand-spinning.  Students can try carding (brushing) the wool and using drop spindles to process it into yarn.  Next, you can try your hand at weaving.  Many of these steps were children’s chores, long ago.
