Patty Kile – Scherenschnitte (Paper Cutting)

Patty Kile retired as a teacher from the Pennsylvania schools. Born and raised on a farm in northeastern PA, she then moved to the Poconos, where she graduated from Arcadia University. She is self-taught and has attempted many arts and crafts– copper enameling, stained glass, painting, decoupage, calligraphy, quilting, sewing, embroidery, rubber stamping, scrapbooking. Finally, Patty settled on the art form of paper crafts– scherenschnitte, wycinanki, silhouettes, and paper sculpture. She has been involved in these crafts for over thirty years.

 

Patty is a Member of the Guild of American Papercutters– currently Membership co- Vice President. As a writer, she has been published in many magazines with feature articles and photography.  She was also a Field Editor for Taste of Home magazine for ten years.   Patty traveled to numerous countries in all continents (except Antarctica!) and has created travelogues about these trips.
